“Weeds” is an American comedy series wich has as leading character Nancy Price Botwin played by Mary-Louise Parker who is the widow of Judah. The creator of the show Jenji Kohan was inspired to do this succesfull serial by crime series such as “The Shield” and “The Sopranos”. The serial started in 2005 on the cabel network Showtime. The story is about a housewife from southern California who becomes a pot dealer after her husband died suddenly of a heart attack. She turned into a dealer to support her family.

The show is a big succes who won a lot of awards during the years like: two Satellite Awards, one Golden Globe Award, Writers Guild of America Award, Young Artist Award, and an Emmy Award.

In Weeds the leading character Nancy Price Botwine whos has two children Silas and Shane, started a business that blooms every day her clients are both neighbors and city council president Agresti, Doug Wilson. While trying to keep secret what she was doing to earn money the members of his family and her best friend find out all and they engage in the business to develop it. The series follows the life of protagonist and those around her, she managed to fend for themselves and to care for her family. We soon learn that Nancy isn’t the only person with some dirty laundry, because the carefully manicured flowers of Agrestic can’t hide the dirty little secrets of its residents forever. Nancy created her own brand of weed called MILF, and tried to stay out of jail and to find her own client base, but together with her children, brother in-law and financial adviser gets into all kind of troubles but always seems to pull through in the end.

Since 2005 when the show debuted, there appeared seven seasons, the series has great success worldwide. The first season began August 8, 2005 and consisted of 10 episodes.

The show manages to captivate your attention from the first episode, with great success. Action, language and characters make you become addicted to the show and what happens during the episodes.
