„Scrubs” is a medical comedy created by Bill Laurence that focuses on the experiences of a group of interns of Sacred Heart Hospital. Dr. John Dorian, known as J.D., is the show’s central character, a young doctor full of expectations and enthusiasm towards his starting career. The realities of the job, the patients and his superiors however give him a hard time and the challenges seem to be higher that anticipated.

JD is also the one who voice-overs throughout the series, with thoughts and witty introspectionsor, often enough, with his own surreal fantasies.

Also appearing in the show are Christopher Turk, Jd’s Best friend and his roommate in college and in medical school. The two still have a very close relationship which they  call „guy love”

Sarah Chalke portrays Elliot Reid, Jd’s love intrest on several occasions as their relationship develops. Elliot is highly competitive with the other interns, out of a neurotic desire to prove herself to her family.Her brother, father and uncle alre all doctors, thus her great ambition to demonstrate her skills as a doctor.

The show aired for 9 seasons and received 17 Emmy Award nominations. The fourth season was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series and,in 2007, at the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards, the episode “My Musical” was nominated for five awards in four categories.

Zach Braff was also nominated that year for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Seriesat the Emmys in 2005. He was also a nominee of the Golden Globe Award – „Best Actor in a Television Series,Comedy or Musical” category in 2005, 2006 and 2007, buttook either award homeas he lost to Jason Bateman (2005), to Steve Carell (2006), and to Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock (2007)
