“Entourage” chronicles the acting career of Vincent Chase, a young A-list movie star at the peak of his career and his childhood friends from Queens, New York. Vincent is at the top of his career and enjoys the fame and the spotlights of Hollywood, Los Angeles.

The show is often intended as a satire of the Hollywood glamorous celebrity lifestyle with all the money, the sex, the parties, the women and the fame surrounding it. The events and characters presented are said to be inspired by actor Mark Wahlberg’s life.

Chase and his entourage navigate the unfamiliar terrain of Los Angeles. The show tries to give an insight into how the entertainment business works, with all the subtleness there is to it: handsomeness and talent open doors and create power for the owner.

Vincent teams up with agent Ari Gold, the all too familiar “ruthless, relentless and always at the top of his game” (www.hbo.com) type of man. Their success seems predestined.

A recurring theme in “Entourage” is the strength of male camaraderie and its importance over work. There are strong relationships between the male characters,often presented from more points of view.

Each episode typically has at least one celebrity guest, such as actors, film directors, film producers, musicians and professional athletes playing themselves. Appearances include Mark Wahlberg, Jessica Alba, Christina Aguilera, Kanye West, Tom Brady, Larry David, Scarlett Johansson, James Cameron, Dennis Hopper, Martin Scorsese, Matt Damon, Eminem, LeBron James, 50 Cent and many others.
